Mum some of the memories

Created by Rosemary 2 years ago

Growing up you were always there for us, walking us too and from school, taking us to swimming lessons and on many visits to the library one of the places you loved to visit, i always remember you saying about the librarian who avoided serving you as you either borrowed or returned loads of books 😂, in one go. (must be where i get it from).

You loved helping out at school, particularly hearing the children read at the local middle school. You were a terrific baker, i always remember our childhood friends loved visiting our house as they loved eating your cakes and the fact you let us eat pudding before sandwiches. The sad day came when you phoned me and told me you had tried to make scones, but instead had ended up with a crumble mix, you couldn’t work out what had gone wrong.

We went on many coach trips, as did you i remember the day you came back and said don’t ask what you had done, but it ended up in an air ambulance trip.

I remember our many Saturday bus trips to Newport when we would leave at 8.30 in the morning, stop for lunch in the wheatsheaf then return home at 5pm, one of the funniest days was when we had so much shopping we had to buy suitcases to put it all in.

You had more than your fair share of ill health, so many times I accompanied you to and e, I remember the day you dislocated your hip, typically on a bank holiday Monday, and the fire service had to come and cut the window out so you could be transferred.

You loved your grandchildren when Eli was little I remember you used to love moving his bouncy chair infront of the tv so he could watch railway journeys with you, then the day you looked after Milly for twenty minutes so i could pop to the chemist for you, the gardener  was on standby in case you needed help.

Now your free from pain, sleep tight. Im hoping your be guiding us.

Good night Mum xxx
